Font Research of Logo

This is my Font Research and as you can see the bottom image is the logo that I will be using on the Front Cover of my music magazine. I started by looking quite vaguely and then once I found a font that I liked I began to add features to it untill I came across a design that I liked and thought would fit in on my front cover.

1st Photo Shoot

These are images from my first photo shoot and after taking them, I instantly saw several areas of improvement and therefore I will be retaking these images to better them.

General Front Cover Research

This front cover shows the subject in the centre of the page, and you can see that she has been made to look like she has been injured as there is an wound on her forehead. This would be something striking that would make passers by wish to purchase the magazine to read the related article. Added to this on this page there is lots of different colours and so this would make this this magazine stand out against its rivals. Added to this on the page there is recurring colour themes like the colour red, pink, yellow and white. Most of these colours are quite bold and therefore this would mean that the front cover stands out. There is also some unique features to this magazine such as the written text of the subjects name, this therefore makes that article look more personal as she has written her own name. On the front cover there is also only a few different fonts and this shows continuity. The main article in the magazine is clearly evident through the fact that the name of that article is in the biggest and unique font.

This front cover is must more simplistic than the one before, and this is because there is not lots of different articles written across the page. Also the subject's head is underneath the logo of the magazine and this automatically makes the top left hand corner have a lot going on. Added to this the fact that the subjects head is near the logo means that the logo is taken notice of as the readers eyes usually go straight to the face and so this would emphasise the logo. There is also a bird on the subjects shoulder and to accommodate this the subject is seen to be leaning to one side. Added to this there is constant colour themes throughout the page and these are pink and blue, the subjects eye make up relates to the colour of the various pieces of font.

This front cover has got some clear colour scheme of the colour of red, therefore when it comes to me making my music magazine's front cover I will ensure that I will have a strong colour scheme. The subject on the front cover looks very Strong and has a clearly defines jaw line which has been made using her hair. Added to this the subject looks pale yet has got very strong eyes. The subject also has big hair which is being blown out of her face to define it and draw the readers attention to it, to show her importance. The text (of the articles) has been justified to give it a professional look and to follow the clearly define image the model is giving off.
